Following the lives of family matriarch Kris Jenner, and her five daughters Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner, the multimillion-dollar series catapulted the family into the spotlight. 

The reality series wasn’t enough to quench fan’s intrigue about the family, and spin-offs were soon put into production as the family made headline after headline – with the fame still only growing to this day. As the popularity surrounding the family exploded, their influence in the cosmetic industry, and many others, started to take off.

The Kardashians rose to fame as a family and the family roots haven’t been forgotten. When it comes to fame and fortune, its very much a family affair with the Kardashians. Each of the Kardashian sisters have paved their own way in the cosmetic industry and put their own Kardashian/Jenner mark on the world of cosmetics.

As a family in the spotlight, it’s no surprise that the attempts by the Kardashians to break into the cosmetic industry have been met with widespread success. Kardashian products line the shelves, their chosen procedures explode in popularity, and the clothes that they wear become overnight fashion statements. 

The Kardashian-Jenner family have broken into the cosmetic industry in multiple ways, with the sisters endorsing and establishing their own lines of product, from the well-known Kardashian Beauty range to Kylie’s Cosmetics, one of the biggest names in the cosmetic industry.

Kardashian Beauty was established by the three Kardashian sisters, Kourtney, Kim, and Khloe. The range of beauty products was received exceptionally well by Kardashian fans and a wider consumer base. The products range from luxury hair formulas to make-up and other cosmetic essentials. 

Marketed as luxury but affordable products, Kardashian Beauty has been met with some problems over the years, but fans of the Kardashian sisters have readily supported the cosmetic endeavor. In recent years, Kim Kardashian’s KKW Beauty line has also grown, pushing the Kardashian’s further and further into the cosmetics spotlight. 

Kylie Jenner – The Face of Beauty

Not to be overshadowed by her sisters, Kylie Jenner has also put her face to a line of beauty products, an endeavor that has been arguably even more successful than Kardashian Beauty. Between partnerships and her own cosmetic beauty label, Kylie Jenner has created her own billion-dollar cosmetic empire. 

The demand for Kylie Cosmetics is incredibly high, with her first products, Lip Kits, selling out one minute after launch. Conveniently after she reportedly had lip fillers for augmentation that are typically only obtained after visiting a cosmetic physician or plastic surgeon. The cosmetics line now includes make-up and make-up tools, and is surrounded in a buzz of exceptional popularity, despite the company only being launched at the end of 2015. The business is only growing, with each new product receiving the same outstanding reception.

Kendall Jenner – A Model Kardashian

While Kendall Jenner hasn’t quite broken into the cosmetic industry to the same degree as her sisters, she hasn’t been absent either. Kendell Jenner has been involved in a nail polish line and lipstick line, but remains primarily a fashion icon, launching multiple clothing lines over the years, and also working as one of the most sought-after models in the world. 

No Secrets: The Modern-Day Trend Setters

The secret behind the Kardashian’s influence over the cosmetic industry, in part, is the absence of secrets. The family has retained their prominence in the spotlight not just because of the long-running Keeping Up with the Kardashian series, but due to their presence on social media and the media attention that they have garnered from magazines and news outlets. 

Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner both claim top spots amongst the most followed Instagram celebrities, and the same trend follows on other prominent social media platforms, like Twitter. Fans eager for Kardashian news can read a constant flow of Kardashian cosmetic ‘top tip’s, ‘must have products’, and ‘product reviews’ as well as keeping up with the latest exploits of the family members.

Cosmetic procedures are readily discussed in the Keeping Up with the Kardashian series, and at the first sign of a rumor indicating that the sisters might have had a treatment, inquiries into the same procedure explode. It’s because of Kardashian influence that buttock enhancement procedures have grown significantly in popularity over recent years. 

One of the largest influences that the Kardashians have had over cosmetic surgery is with the popularity of lip fillers. When Kylie Jenner admitted that she had undergone lip filler treatment in 2015, there were 700% more inquiries into the procedure in a single day. This unprecedented influence has caused a surge in cosmetic treatment popularity and led to many people having cosmetic treatment to look like their Kardashian icons. Claire Leeson and Jordan James Parke both hit the news for having cosmetic treatments to look more like their idol, Kim Kardashian. 

While the Kardashians are not the only celebrities to influence the cosmetic surgery industry, they have assisted in giving cosmetic surgery a new sense of popularity. As a key influence, the Kardashians have helped to give people the courage they need to step up and have their own procedures.  

The Influence for a New Generation 

Between Kardashian Beauty, Kylie Cosmetics, and the long list of other cosmetic products endorsed or established by the Kardashian-Jenner family, it’s hard to say that the Kardashians don’t hold a major influence over the cosmetic industry, or that the family isn’t still growing their influence.
